Executive summary

ClearMetadata is designed to reduce exposure from data embedded in files. Whenever possible, processing happens locally. When a server is needed, files are temporary and are not stored permanently.

Quick answer

No file should be stored permanently. Use the tool only with files you own or are authorized to edit, and keep originals private when you need authorship or history.

Local processing and temporary server use

Small files can be prepared in the browser when the format allows it. Larger files or flows that require infrastructure may use an isolated server and secure connection.

Retention

The operational intent is not to keep files permanently. Temporary files sent to the server are removed after processing.

Responsible use

Metadata removal does not change copyright, license, consent, or responsibility for the content. Use only files you own or are authorized to edit.

Frequently asked questions

Do you sell my files?

No. The tool is intended to clean metadata and return a prepared download, without permanent file storage.

Does cleanup make a file anonymous?

It removes invisible fields, but it does not remove people, brands, voices, faces, or visible information in the content.
